We can for instance see how low self-worth maybe led to us staying or even seeking out unhealthy connections. Part of this accountability is also to face our inner critic that likes to punish and judge us over and over again for a past mistake or a failure or a misjudgement or any of the many experiences where even our best choice available at that particular moment was a terrible choice. Accountability doesn't mean that we never were victims or experienced certain traumas, it is to accept ALL PAST SELVES choices and experiences and interpretations of those experiences with utmost compassion. It is to trust ourselves and to trust love one more time. In this new framework for self, we can embrace our unique desires in love and prioritize our well-being in romance. In this new acceptance for self, we also have a new acceptance in love. It shifts love from conditional to unconditional. We move beyond judgement and expectation and allow for a genuine connection.
