By actively working on self-healing and fostering a harmonious relationship, we and our beloved can create a space for love to flourish and deepen. We do this by prioritizing emotional regulation and mutual understanding. Emotional regulation simply means that we practice to manage any strong emotions and to not reactively respond or impulsively react when we are triggered. We identify our triggers by recognizing patterns in our behaviours and reactions that might stem from past hurts.

 

We let go of the need to control the relationship, we release any resistance to what is and we open ourselves up to the possibility of deeper connection and joy. We surrender in the sense that we no longer are driven by the need to have all the answers or to be able to fix everything. When we surrender, we finally allow ourselves to be truly present. We can engage with our partner in this space of acceptance, of openness to the expression and sharing of their or our own hearts and minds.

 

The need to control every aspect of our relationship or the manifestation of love can often be traced back to a lack of self-acceptance and insecurity. When we are able to embrace our strengths and bring compassion to our weaknesses, we no longer try to fill the void with external validation and reassurance. We can allow ourselves to be vulnerable and genuine.

 

When we experience harmony in love we feel a sense of unity. Both parties feel respected, valued and connected and there is a sense of serenity in the knowing that even in the face of disagreement we are able to navigate through it with compassion and empathy. Love is an emotional attunement and peaceful coexistence. Thank you.
